Na Na Na NaNoWriMo

Please hold me accountable.

We are down to less than five hours before the month of frenzied writing better known as NaNoWriMo begins.  I said I was going to do it this year.  Just do it.  Right.

I just finished a 31 Day Challenge on my blog so writing a novel in 30 Days for the month of November is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.  You have to question my sanity.

You may be asking why.  You would not be alone.  I am asking myself that question hourly.  I don’t have a concrete answer.  I may have at the end of the 30 days if I make it that far.

Stay tuned.

In other news this will be my 50th post on this blog.  Yea Me!  Most people would wait until 100 to mention it, but I’m rather proud of 50, so thought it deserved a mention.  I thought  my 50th post would be something really profound and eye opening, but I guess not.  Just goes to show that you can’t be too sure.

And finally, a picture for those who need the visual because they don’t like words by themselves.  You can make up your own story about the picture. Deal?

NaNoWriMoing in Grace,

Sadie

  1. One week in — how is it going? Would be interested to know something about the project. Short description of the novel’s theme? Go, girl, go!

    1. Funny you should ask! I did really well for the first couple of days – met my word count. But even though the story was one I had wanted to write for awhile – kind of a fallen from grace, mystery, romance, redemption type of novel – I wasn’t thrilled about it. It did seem to be writing itself, but my heart is not really in it. So I have another idea that is more of a memoir based on all the moves we’ve made etc. I think it would be a collection of short essays that weave together a story of sorts – like an underlying theme. Not sure. But I’ve been gathering writings that would work. So now I have two options and am in the middle. The other option is to not do it. I’ve really been thinking that through – I’m fine if I do or if I don’t. I just want to make sure I write or don’t write for the right reasons. Ok, so not really very clear, but where I happen to be. My word count is way off, so will need to play some catch up. I’ll keep you posted. I’m going to try to get back into posting on my blog in the next day or two. Missed you for a few days – glad to see you’re back 🙂

      1. Wow, Sadie, good for you! This is how writing feels to me. It is so hard to choose one path and stay with it. I get frustrated or annoyed or overwhelmed and then want to try a different direction. I am very interested to hear what you decide to do with these options.
And thank you for missing me.
